Gull Lake Community Schools are up for a bond vote in May.

Deadline to Register to Vote: Monday, April 9, 2018

Absentee Ballots Available: Saturday, March 24, 2018

Community Forums (Do you have any questions regarding any items within the bond proposal? Head to one of the community forums for answers):

  • February 21, 2018, 6:30 p.m.: Kellogg Elementary

  • February 22, 2018, 6:30 p.m.: Ross Township Office

  • February 27, 2018, 6:30 p.m.: Gull Lake Middle School

Election Day: Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Location: 10100 East D Avenue, Richland

Major Scope Items:

Estimated Budget: $64,955,000 in 2 Series

  • Series 1 (2018): $43,790,000

  • Series 2 (2022): $21,165,000

Technology

All series, all schools ($3,180,000)

  • Instructional technology refresh. Includes computers, tablets and laptops.

Kellogg Elementary

Series 1 ($14,100,000)

  • Construct new air-conditioned classroom wings, administration office, cafeteria/kitchen

  • Remodel existing media center and computer lab

  • Connect to existing gymnasium

  • New student furniture

  • Demolish existing Kellogg Elementary

  • Develop playgrounds, parking lots, bus loop, drives, sidewalks and sanitary disposal field

Series 2 ($1,320,000)

  • Window and roofing replacements for preschool building

Richland Elementary

Series 1 ($9,820,000)

  • Construct new air-conditioned classroom wings, including site work

  • Remodel existing space for administration office

  • New student furniture

  • Demolish 1958 wing

Series 2 ($3,250,000)

  • Kitchen/server remodeling

  • Replace exterior stucco, unit ventilators and temperature controls

  • Upgrade power systems

  • Change lighting to LED in 1992 wing

Ryan Intermediate

Series 1 ($5,800,000)

  • Construct new air-conditioned classrooms, special education and support spaces

  • STEM Lab additions with air conditioning

  • Site work for new additions

  • New student furniture

Series 2 ($4,660,000)

  • Interior finish replacements

  • Replace unit ventilators and air conditioning units

  • Upgrade power systems

  • Change lighting to LED

Gull Lake Middle School

Series 1 ($900,000)

  • New student furniture

Series 2 ($6,400,000)

  • Replace asbestos flooring, as well as windows, doors, gym bleachers, student lockers, unit ventilators and temperature controls

  • Upgrade power systems

  • Change lighting to LED

  • Reconstruct parking lots and driveways

Gull Lake High School

Series 1 ($11,550,000)

  • Construct new auditorium, including site work

  • Approximately 950 seats between main floor and balcony

  • 104’ x 34’ stage with fly loft

  • Orchestra pit

  • Lobby with ticketing, concessions and student art gallery

  • Men, women and family restrooms

  • Scene shop

  • Dressing and makeup rooms

  • Costume and prop storage

Series 2 ($3,195,000)

  • Add air conditioning to gymnasium

  • Mechanical equipment replacements

  • Change lighting to LED

  • Resurface parking lots and drives

Bedford Community and Family Learning Center

Series 2 ($485,000)

  • Replace chalkboards with marker boards

  • Replace condensing units and water conditioning system

  • Replace lighting with LED

Maintenance

Series 1 ($775,000)

  • Construct new maintenance and storage building, including site work

Transportation

Series 1 ($1,290,000)

  • Add pull-thru bus maintenance bay, including site work

  • Reconstruct bus parking lot and drives

  • Replace fencing

Athletics

Series 1 ($560,000)

  • ADA accessibility upgrades for football, baseball and softball

  • New LED football stadium lighting

  • New fencing

Series 2 ($370,000)

  • Replace football stadium visitor bleachers

  • Add additional home bleachers
